Stalked But Not Afraid is the second standalone in the Spark of Hope series. Each book follows a different couple. While they can be read separately, I'd recommend reading them in order.

We first meet Roman on book one, Ben's surly, arrogant cop brother. Naturally I was intrigued and I'm so glad we didn't have to wait long for his story.

There's more to Roman than the outer exterior he uses as a shield. After the past trauma that he and his brother have been through as children it's only naturally he'd build up a fortress of defences. But who would have guessed that a sassy cam boy would be the one to break those down. Brooks is all sass in the best way.

Nicole has a way of weaving both sass and snark with the feels. Roman and Brooks story isn't what I expected, but I definitely enjoyed it. There are life struggles and issues brought to the surface within this book. Not just the obvious of one should not judge a book by it's cover. But the judgement faced by sex workers and the narrow minded mentality of 'they deserved it' based on what they do for a living, what they wear etc.

I'm looking forward to our next couple. Wondering whether maybe it might be Andrew or possibly Ethan….

Damaged & Deadly is book three in the Black Creek series. A dark why choose romance with gang and mafia themes.

Murder and Mayhem left me shook and I'm totally not surprised to be feeling it again after Damaged and Deadly. Once you're hooked, there's no shaking it. It's captivating, thrilling and utterly addictive.

Thankfully this book picks up where the previous cliffhanger left us. But don't be fooled into thinking it's smooth sailing, because it's chaos of epic proportions. There is suspense and actioned packed moments but just when you think you know what's coming, you don't.

The character development in this book is fantastic, we shown more depth to a mafia men and the length both them and the gangsters will go to protect what's theirs. "The gangsters and the Made men…and the vigilante", the perfect way to sum up this book!

Heads You Lose is book two in the Grim and Beast Duet. A dark age gap romance.

Beast and Grim's story is one I've wanted since I first meet them reading Academy of Stardom (I read the series out of order in beginning and had to go back and start with Brothers Freed) and I couldn't love them more! Bea has an absolute gift of being able to hook you into her stories and have you utterly consumed by them and this one is no different.

Tales You Win gave us where they started, but this book gave us their story and Grim's rise to her throne as Queen of Tales. The complete raw, dark and sometimes twisted story. But Bea also perfectly tied their story timeline in with the other characters stories in this world. The glimpses of family moments are probably some of my favourite, they're wholesome and sweet. Showing their humanity in a world of darkness. The character developments as well, not only throughout this duet but for those that feature in their own series. And that epilogue, it's the ending their journey deserved!

If you haven't read the previous series in this world I highly recommend starting at the beginning as per the author note there are character crossovers and while this is Grim and Beasts story they all do overlap.

🔥 What was the last book you read that left you absolutely shook?

Devils Playground is a sinfully twisted dark romance that left me absolutely shook.
I read this duet last year and even now I still think “what the hell did I read. I should totally reread that” which I of course will. It’s available on #audiobook and so work the listen!

It has some fantastic spice and twisted gritty plot that will have you absolutely hooked!
