Dark Confessions is a dark reverse harem with a mafia plot. This review is for the first two books in the series.
Dangerous Truths Book one
Our FMC Loren is a trauma therapist. Throughout the POV’s which change from Loren to the men she comes in contact with build a very intricate web of interactions.
I’m genuinely impressed at how well all the characters blend into the plot, while no one over shadows it all flows seamlessly.
Kris has yet again snared me with my book boyfriend kryptonite, not just once but multiple times. Their personalities bringing to life a different part this not only necessary to the plot premise but I feel will be to Loren in some way.
I found this to be a slow burn, but by no means slow paced. We are building the structure to the full plot and I’m so keen to see how this series unfolds.
This is a contemporary reverse harem with dark elements and mafia ties. Very minimal triggers with abuse, mental health and violence. I’d recommend giving this series a read
Dangerous Lies book two
This series really is shaping up to bring all the elements that lure you in. Drama, angst and of course secrets. As I mentioned in my review for Dangerous Truth, I love the POV changes. The different narratives always open the story up to being more dynamic.
I really enjoyed how much development happened with the characters side stories, not just with Loren and her path.
Also once again Kris always writes book boyfriend gold! I cannot wait to see how the harem evolves but how their relationships one on one grow. But that cliffhanger! While it wasn’t as much of a punch in the feels as Dangerous Truth, I still need answers. Pronto
