Four Bears Construction Series Review

Four Bears Construction is a MM romance series by KM Neuhold.

Caulky is book one.
This is my first time reading K.M Neuhold so I didn’t know what to expect. But I’ve seen her books pop up a few times when reading other MM romance authors. So I decided to give her a read and I’m so glad I did.

Ren leaves his boyfriend of five years and is desperate need of a rebound because the last thing he wants is another broken heart.
Cole is a sexy contractor with rules he doesn’t break, like no repeats and don’t sleep with clients.

This is a great fun and light read. There is very little angst and drama but it’s still gripping enough to hold your attention. It was refreshing to have older characters with Cole in his early 40’s and Ren in his mid 30’s this brought a totally different vibe than a lot I’ve read.

Plus we get to meet the other bears that Cole has his company with Ollie his brother, Stone & Everett. I’m looking forward to where their stories might lead us. Seeing small moments of foreshadowing of what’s to come in this book.

Which I agree with the author that the books could be read standalones, I think you get a different build of the world created when reading them in order. So if you’re wanting to read Four Bears Construction I’d say start here!

Nailed is book two.

This series is my first time reading K.M Neuhold so I didn’t know what to expect. But I’ve seen her books pop up a few times when reading other MM romance authors. So I decided to give her a read and I’m so glad I did.

Stone is a total goofball and unapologetically himself. Working with his 3 friends in Four Bears Construction he deiced to buy a fixer upper house.
Dare is a surly, grumpy bike mechanic, that just happens to be Stone’s new neighbour.

Right from the beginning they butt heads. Stone makes it his mission for drive Dare insane. With frat boy like pranks and shenanigans that you can’t help but laugh at.

I’m honestly a sucker for an enemies to lovers trope but add in the obvious grumpy/sunshine trope and I’m not surprised that these two are proving to be one of my fave couples.
I genuinely laughed out the loud at the craziness that happens in this book with goats, ball jokes and Stone’s ability to butcher every day sayings.

Neuhold is shaping up to be a new author fave. I’ll definitely be continuing with this series. It’s so easy to get sucked into the light and low angst read.

Hardwood is book three.

This series is my first time reading K.M Neuhold so I didn’t know what to expect. But I’ve seen her books pop up a few times when reading other MM romance authors. So I decided to give her a read and I’m so glad I did.

Everett is part of 4 Bears construction and a divorced single dad finally wanting to date. Only he’s gay and no one knows.

Wats is the adorable sweet and cute music teacher at his daughters school that’s obsessed with musicals.

This books is adorably funny. It’s light hearted, sweet and so cute. There are some genuine laugh out loud moments with the antics that Wats and Ev get up to.

Also small moments of foreshadowing for up coming couples that I’m still intrigued on how they pan out.

Screwed is book four.

This series is my first time reading K.M Neuhold so I didn’t know what to expect. But I’ve seen her books pop up a few times when reading other MM romance authors. So I decided to give her a read and I’m so glad I did.

Daniel is Ren’s best friend and a self proclaimed realist when it comes to relationships. He doesn’t do them ever.
Ollie is a hopeless romantic, he believes he will find his soul mate in every new relationship. Until one drunken night…

After a drunken wedding Ollie and Daniel are determined to outlast the beat the bears have on the marriage not lasting. 8 months is nothing right? This was another low angst cute read. It’s full of funny and adorable moments.

Stud is book five.

This series is my first time reading K.M Neuhold so I didn’t know what to expect. But I’ve seen her books pop up a few times when reading other MM romance authors. So I decided to give her a read and I’m so glad I did.

West is Dare’s nephew and works at 4 Bears Construction after Stone got him a the job.
Sawyer is the older sexy bartender and owner of Woolies, their local bar.

After many attempts to ask Sawyer on a date West throws the towel in when they kiss at Stone & Dare’s wedding weekend.
Three years on West has stuck by his word not to ask again. He and Sawyer are practically best friends now spending all their available together.

Much to Sawyer’s dismay West starts dating again after meddling from the bears. Sawyer manages to sabotage every date because he can’t let West go. Some of the sabotage is absolute hilarious, the lengths he goes.

Again this is another light hearted, low angst romance. But the best part of this book is Gus’ letters

Stripped is book six.

This series is my first time reading K.M Neuhold so I didn’t know what to expect. But I’ve seen her books pop up a few times when reading other MM romance authors. So I decided to give her a read and I’m so glad I did.

Miller is a buff and motivated construction worker for Four Bears Construction with a love for nerdy, smart professors.

Demetri is a nerdy professor with a love for knitting his tortoise cosies, yes I said tortoise. Irony is not lost on me that Demi is a shy guy that needs to come out of his shell.

The thing i love most about Neuhold’s books is the body positivity, mature aged characters & acceptance of sexual orientation. But now we have a character who identifies as transgender and has ADHD. I liked how positive this representation was. I didn’t feel like this added just for the sake of adding rep, it was part of the characters identity but wasn’t all they were.

Ridge and Apollo have me so keen for their story from their interactions in this book. There’s hostility, funny moments and definite tension I am so ready for!

Drilled is book seven.

This series is my first time reading K.M Neuhold so I didn’t know what to expect. But I’ve seen her books pop up a few times when reading other MM romance authors. So I decided to give her a read and I’m so glad I did.

Apollo is a surly, grumpy construction worker with Four Bears Construction.
Ridge is the new hire at Four Bears Construction and has history with Apollo.

Apollo and Ridge are sent to work together on a rundown cabin grounds. The bears are taking bets on how long it takes them to get past their history. But Apollo refuses to let Ridge talk about what happened.

I love a good enemies to lovers, but it’s made even better when they have history. While this isn’t high angst the tension is still there. The grumpy/sunshine trope is in full swing here too.

There are plenty of cute and steamy moments but no shortage of bear antics and shenanigans though.
